Who's behind it.
Virtual Fairways is independently owned and run by Michael Harrold, who opened the venue on Lingfield Way in Darlington in 2026. There's no franchise script: the person who books you in, sets your bay up and explains what the numbers mean is usually Michael himself. First-timers and regulars both mention him by name in our Google reviews.
He also writes the guides on this site: how accurate golf simulators are, what your simulator numbers mean, simulator vs driving range and TrackMan vs GSPro. Plain English, no sales pitch, and the same answers you'd get standing in the bay.
What we built.
Three 4K golf simulator bays, one on TrackMan and two on ProTee VX running GSPro, with 2000+ courses between them. Real clubs and real balls, and clubs are available to hire if you haven't got your own. A licensed bar with drinks and snacks brought to the bay, so nobody has to leave mid-round.
Bay hire is £13.50 per 30 minutes or £27 an hour per bay*, with the whole venue from £81 an hour for parties, corporate days and stag and hen dos. The full list is on the pricing page.
Alongside everyday bay hire the venue runs ladies' nights and charity days, and the opening was covered by The Northern Echo and Northern Golfer.
Two minutes off the A66.
